What is Meditation?

Meditation is a way to calm your body, mind and spirit.

Meditation provides you with a chance to relax and engage in some needed respite.

Meditation can help relieve stress or tension.

Meditation can provide insights for your life.

Meditation can help you facilitate releasing items which no longer serve you. Such as: pent up emotions, healing from past relationships, or trying to control items which are out of your control.


Meditation can also be fun and light hearted.

I am not into chanting, can I still meditate?

Of course! There are lots of ways to meditate. Chanting is just one way. In fact, you probably have slipped into a meditative or hypnotic state while doing something mundane. Like washing the dishes or driving on a long open freeway. 

Do I have to sit in a funny position to meditate?

No, some people choose to meditate in what is called a Lotus position (which is what you probably have seen), but you can sit or lie comfortably when you meditate. Some people even walk a labyrinth and meditate.

I am afraid I am going to meditate the wrong way. How should I be meditating?

If you are doing some intensive meditation course, they may want you to meditate  a certain way, but Tara believes there really isn’t a wrong way to meditate, as long as it works for you.

What is Guided Meditation?

Guided Meditation is where you hear someone talking and possibly asking you to visualize something when you are meditating (This can also be referred to as guided imagery.) 

Tara finds it is one of the best ways to introduce people to meditation. And even people who meditate regularly, can still benefit from a guided meditation. 

Tara's meditations are guided meditation with guided imagery.

What if I can’t visualize anything during the Guided Meditation?

That is fine, some people don’t “see” anything during a guided meditation. 

When some people are unable to see anything it can raise their anxiety of being unable to “correctly” meditate. 

This is one reason why Tara has chosen to release an audio and video file for all of her guided meditations. Some people prefer to watch her videos instead of listening to the audio file, even though the video only contains a still picture.

You are still able to receive and benefit from the meditation if you chose to watch the video instead. 

Do I have to close my eyes?

All of Tara’s guided meditations ask you to close your eyes (because you are less distracted with your eyes closed) but always do what you feel most comfortable with.

At the end of each meditation she prompts you to open your eyes again, so it eliminates you trying to figure out when to open your eyes.
